
About the Organization
On June 23, 2021, residents met with Mayor Jones and Alderwoman Wilson to discuss organizing a block club for the 300 - 400 blocks of Campbell Avenue. The block club application, including the petition with residents' signatures, was attached and submitted to the Alderwoman at the October 14, 2021, City Council meeting. The application was approved and the first block club meeting was held on April 23, 2022.
The United Campbell Avenue Block Club aka Unity In Our Community Organization has made a tremendous impact thanks to the assistance and support of the city, members, residents, and volunteers. On February 3, 2023, the organization's Article of Incorporation Not-For-Profit application was approved by the Illinois Secretary of State and was filed under the General Not-For-Profit Corporation Act. In addition, on May 24, 2023, the organization received the Internal Revenue Service determination letter under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3), being classified as a public charity organization.
There are six (6) Standing Officers which make up the Executive Board that adheres to the Article of Incorporation bylaws of the organization.

Goals and Objectives

To be an advocate of communication between the city & other entities for residents.

Unite the residents together to establish a strong block and community that cares and are concerned about the upkeep of property, maintaining a family-oriented and safe community environment.

Establish a platform to communicate, share and provide information among residents.

Provide a nonpartisan platform on key issues of the block, communities or cities of major significance that affect all residents.

Develop and promote activities/events that will enhance ethnic pride, training, financial assistance and investments in giving back into the communities.
